On the day of September 18, during a Nintendo Direct Mini, Capcom revealed two headlines of Monster Hunter coming to Nintendo Switch. The first game shown, Monster hunter rise, had been preceded by some rumors that they wanted it developed on the RE Engine, the famous game engine that was used to create Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Devil May Cry 5. Now the official confirmation has arrived.
Monster Hunter Rise will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch and will take place in a completely new setting developed vertically, including climbing, grappling bugs and rideable wolves. Although the graphics are not as detailed as that of Monster Hunter World, nor does the art style seem as inspired as Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, another title shown in Direct, it seemed to many that the game engine used was a RE Engine version compatible for Switch.
Socks, il community manager of the British division of Capcom has clarified any doubts about Twitter when to the numerous questions posed by fans he replied that yes, it is the RE engine. The engine of the Japanese house is now a guarantee and is also used for titles not related to the Resident Evil franchise.
