N, Amazon's ambitious MMO coming this year, is meant to have in-game purchases, but at launch we will find only items “exclusively of a cosmetic nature".
It was studio director Rich Lawrence who reassured the players via Twitter.
Lawrance specified that the Alpha version of the store is simply a test, and that the development team is working to identify which products we will be able to purchase in the final version of the game.
Among them we could find for example the purchase of fast travel- always according to the plans of the developer - but any decision in this regard will be made following the feedback of the players in the months following the launch.
The goal with all of these items is that they do not offer an edge that unbalances the game. Lawrence also revealed that the team is contemplating a "battle pass" style program, however, this too is being examined.
Finally, Lawrance states that it is being studied there "Possibility of optional expansions, which would have a separate cost".
What do you think? Believe that Will New World be able to keep pay-to-win dynamics out of its gameplay?
After all, the fight against certain systems is becoming increasingly important for all those developers working on projects with such important targets and undoubtedly very exposed to the media.
New World will be released in August 2021.
