The retail version will consist of two covers, signed by different artists. The first, dedicated to the Asian market, will be signed by Akihiko Yoshida, while the other - for the western market - will be handled by the pen of Koda Kazuma. Both will be available in the package as an official cover and reverse cover to be used at the discretion of the gamer.
NieR:Replicant will be released for the first time on the western market. Eleven years ago, precisely the April 22 2010 NieR: Gestalt was released as an Xbox 360 exclusive. The story of the latter title follows the events of Nier, a man who seeks - at all costs - a cure for his beloved daughter Yonah, suffering from a debilitating terminal illness. The title develops - in the form of a spin-off - following the fifth and final finale of the action-rpg series Drakengard, released on PS2.
NieR: Replicant, on the other hand, follows the same events as its parallel project, with the difference of the main protagonist. In Replicant the point of view will be that of the fearless Yonah's older brother who - like his father - will find a cure for his little sister. It is not yet known why to divide a product into two different spin-offs, it is rumored that NieR: Gestalt was produced for the western market (not surprisingly it was Xbox 360 exclusive!) And, precisely the features of NieR would have enticed western players. to put himself in his shoes, echoing a bit to other protagonists of action / adventure or western rpg titles of the time, such as Kratos from God of War. With this new reboot, Square Enix gives Western players a chance to play the same story from the second point of view, expanding the contents and improving the graphics.
