The Nintendo Direct of February 17, 2021 continues to reserve surprises, and this time it is a very welcome return. We are talking about one of the most loved and complex action ever: Ninja Gaiden. With Ninja Gaiden: MasterCollection, Nintendo will give us the opportunity to play, with a single purchase, all the adventures of the most famous ninja in the history of video games: Ryu Hayabusa.
The Master Collection will include Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gainde Sigma 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, and the next one will arrive on Nintendo Switch June 10 2021. If you have never heard of the saga, know that these are video games that make action their strong point, managing to satisfy the palates of the most demanding players.
This is how Koei Tecmo described Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge.
“Terrorists stormed the London Prime Minister's home, taking him hostage. Ryu Hayabusa was summoned from the depths of the campaign to fulfill their only request: to meet the terrorists face to face. Ryu infiltrates the Prime Minister's home, finding himself face to face with the leader of the terrorists, the Regent of the Mask. The Regent curses Ryu with the Grip of Murder, a spell cast on his right arm that feeds on the grudges of all the people he has killed. Will Ryu be able to lift the curse before he consumes him, and at the same time stop the terrorists' plans? NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor's Edge is a leaner, tighter, and more thrilling experience than the original game, improved in every way. Drastically reduced story sequences, streamlined gameplay, and improved AI. This is truly the sequel that NINJA GAIDEN fans have been waiting for. "
Outside of the three iconic video games created by Team Ninja, the Master Collection will include a whole range of DLCs, costumes and game modes. In addition to the Nintendo Switch, Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection will also arrive on PS4, PS5 (via backwards compatibility), Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S (again via backwards compatibility) and PC (via Steam).
A few words about Ninja Gaiden
The Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection brings popular action games to PC and consoles, allowing fans and newcomers to experience the story of "super ninja" Ryu Hayabusa as he battles the deadly demons that wreak havoc on the world. Ninja Gaiden Sigma, originally released in 2007, set the standard for high-speed action for the series, introducing dual-use weapons and a Mission mode alongside its gripping Story mode.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, originally released in 2009, continued Hayabusa's journey alongside characters Ayane, Rachel and Momiji, with four difficulty levels that challenge players' battle techniques with every heart-pounding fight. The last arrived, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, originally released in 2012, raised the challenge with powerful new enemies and fiercely violent representations, as well as bringing Kasumi into the action, making the series' most fascinating experience to date.
Yosuke hayashi, Chief Head of Team Ninja, made the following statements.
“NINJA GAIDEN is one of the most important and monumental titles for the Team NINJA brand, but we have not been able to release the title of the series on the current generation platforms, so I am very happy to be able to release it in this format as a trilogy. If you like challenging action games, we hope you will try it. "
Crossover with Nioh
As many will know, Team Ninja also had the merit of creating the Nioh saga. For this very reason, starting from February 18th, anyone who owns Nioh 2 - The Complete Edition, or Nioh 2 for Playstation 5, will be able to download one skin with which he can transform into the "super ninja" Ryu Hayabusa.
We report the statements of Fumihiko Yasuda, head of Team NINJA.
“NINJA GAIDEN is the source of Team NINJA's action games, and I hope that not only fans of the series but fans of the Nioh series will play these games as well. Hopefully the day will soon come when I can provide information on the next game in the NINJA GAIDEN series, which I have continually said I want to develop, but until then, please play as the 'super ninja' Ryu Hayabusa in NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection ".
