Shipments
“Expeditions” is also the name of the new game mode of No Man's Sky. Each shipment starts from a precise point in the universe for all players, which means you can undertake a shared trip with a group of friends (or strangers met on the spot).
Each expedition is structured around a series of Milestone with objectives that, once completed, allow the earning of rewards and meeting new travel companions. Such Milestones consist of challenges more or less demanding according to the phases, and can be completed in any order. Each Milestone is an opportunity to explore a different aspect of No Man's Sky, and each reward will be able to assist travelers on the entire expedition.
Completion also guarantees patches (or medals) to be placed on your travel diary. There are more than 100 patches, all the gates to the Milestones to pass. Make sure you earn them all! Other rewards guaranteed by Expeditions include golden ships, helmets and… fireworks!
These shipments will begin regularly. Each duration will be unique and limited, and each will explore a different theme. Whenever you start a game in Expedition mode, it will start with a new random character with a random set of technologies. At the end of each expedition, the Milestones and rewards will be carried over to a new save which will be converted to normal mode.
