According to EA's fiscal year summary, the CEO Andrew Wilson, announced that eight titles are in the pipeline to be published during fiscal year 2021, among these eight new titles are present two dedicated to historical franchises of the US software house: Need for Speed e Battlefield.
He confirmed that Battlefield 6 will be released in conjunction with the Christmas holidays next year and will have a structure never seen before.
The next game Need for Speed, on the other hand, will be produced by Criterion Games, the same software house that worked for Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit (here our review).
We still don't know if Battlefield 6 and the new Need for Speed will be exclusive titles for the new generation console or if they will be released in cross-gen. One thing is certain, Wilson has recently praised the new hardware present on the "newborn" consoles from Sony and Microsoft.
The latest title dedicated to the FPS franchise is Battlefield V, which was unable to match the success of its predecessor Battlefield 1, in terms of sales. It is available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The 10th November will also be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Library attraverso EA Play, doing so will also be available to Xbox Series S and X players.
