Finally the last great mystery of the next-gen has been revealed: during tonight's showcase Sony has revealed PS5 release date and pricing. All the information below!
PS5 release date
The console's official release date is November 12 for the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, and November 19 for the rest of the world.. This applies to both the Standard and Digital versions.
Price and versions
As we know, the console will come in two versions, Standard and Digital. As for the PS5 Standard, the launch price is set at € 499,99. The PS5 Digital, on the other hand, will cost € 399,99.
PS5 games announced
On the occasion of this Showcase Sony took advantage of it for an announcement with a bang: it is Final Fantasy XVI, which will be exclusive to PS5 console; it will therefore also be released on PC. No information has been released regarding the game launch window (all info here). It was also announced with a teaser trailer God of War 2, the long-awaited follow-up to the acclaimed reboot of the series, expected for the 2021. It was also announced during the show Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, which will be available at the launch of the console, as well as the latest version of Fortnite. Finally, it was revealed Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, new chapter of the series of which, however, no information has been leaked regarding a possible launch period.
PS5 offers and reservations
No precise dates have been communicated regarding the opening of the console pre-orders, which will vary from country to country, but there will be national openings starting tomorrow. However, Sony has presented a very succulent promotion for PlayStation Plus subscribers: it is the Playstation Plus Collection, a selection of the best PS4 titles, available for free for download at the launch of the console!
