Character Development
The first two episodes were the use of a large and complex introduction of scenarios and characters. With the addition of multiple villains and prominent figures from the comic universe of the Dark Knight, Telltale has laid the foundations for a vast and fascinating narrative plot.
Many, as already seen in the first season, have been presented in a new light and this denotes self-confidence and awareness of one's means.
Specifically, in this third episode, we have an interesting step forward from a narrative point of view. The batch of actors is over for a large and very interesting cast and theexcellent development of the aforementioned characters. The proto-Joker it is in the final stages of its development in what is a splendid incubation that offers us, like it or not, the seat of spectators in the front row. I have a feeling that there will be a season three and that it will see John Doe as the main villain. Excellent characterization also with regard to Selina who will offer a further, excellent, relational layer in which to wander.
The key concept of this episode, in fact, is precisely the relations. The relationships between the various characters give the impression of being strongly interconnected and, not infrequently, I happened to reflect until the time runs out to give an answer. The situations and dialogues that I found myself living are, in fact, really anxious and interesting. Sifting out past events and potential consequences for the future becomes a systematic and intriguing operation e my decisions gave me the feeling of having a real narrative weight.
Captivating storytelling
The narrative pace of the last episode was fluctuating and some may have turned up their noses a bit due to some excessive inflection. In Fractured Mask, the third installment of this second season, you won't have to worry about potential slowdowns. Everything in this episode proceeds swiftly in a rollercoaster of emotions, relationships and slaps that will give you no respite. It must be said, however, that the title, despite the fast pace, manages to communicate the plot clearly and be engaging and not stressful for the player.
The problem of the narrative rhythm of the previous episode is also lost offering a formula in which the elements are well blended. The only caveat is that, by virtue of the presence of un tessuto a dense, you will find yourself making a lot of dialogues and making many choices (often binary) sacrificing (partially) direct interactions and the purer side of gameplay. The cliffhanger and the end-of-chapter interruption we are now used to is perhaps even more abrupt than usual but it does not disappoint.
Technically speaking ...
From a technical point of view, the title has definitely and fortunately overcome the frame rate problems of last season. The experience is fluid, stable and stylistically satisfying. The sound sector is excellent with excellent dubbing flashes by a cast that does not need further introduction.
In the third episode of Batman: The Enemy Within, the threats take on concrete connotations. At the same time, however, the unpredictability of the narrative plot will constantly keep the player in tension. All this is seasoned with an excellent development of the characters and interesting dialogues. Too bad for the abuse of some dialogic solutions and the lack of interaction in general.
