Yakuza: Like a Dragon, known in Japan as Yakuza 7, is the next title in the saga created by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios e Sega to debut in the West.
The expectations for this title are really high from the fans, it is the first title in the saga to have a new main protagonist after the charismatic Kazuma Kiryu. Kasuga Ichiban he is the new budding yakuza who - after having spent eighteen years in prison - will return to freedom and will discover, in spite of himself, that no one in the Tojo Clan, of which he was a part, remembers him. Embittered and now alone, he will wander the streets of Yokohama, trying to investigate the reasons for his capture by the police. For the first time, the events of the new Yakuza will develop far from the well-known Kamurocho (fictional name of the real Kabukicho, Tokyo's red light district) and will take place in Yokohama, the seaside town a few kilometers from Tokyo Bay; it is not only he who brings news to the series, but also a redefined gameplay system that comes closest to a turn-based role-playing game, mimicking the fighting style that we enjoyed in Persona 5. A real revolution for the saga consisting mainly of punches and bicycles thrown at enemies; the purists - in fact - had something to complain about, and yet, the sales of Yakuza: Like a Dragon in Japan went just fine.
In the afternoon of today, September 28, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announces the launch window in which the title will be released on the new PS5, March 2 2021.
