The collection event Aftermarket is now available in Apex Legends; here are the full patch notes, released in advance by Respawn Entertainment, and everything the October 6 update will bring to battle royale.
The Aftermarket Collection Event is the first major promotional period in Apex Legends since the beginning of 6 season, set to introduce a lot of new content and some huge changes to the popular battle royale.
The main update is support for the cross-play functionality, which allows players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC to finally play together and against each other online.
Also included is a new limited-time mode, a new Caustic family heirloom, several legend and weapon changes, quality of life improvements, and various bug fixes.
All the details can be found below.
Beta cross-play
As mentioned above, cross-platform support is finally coming to Apex Legends. The feature will initially be in beta, allowing Respawn to collect data, test its functionality, and receive feedback from players on the overall quality.
Players will be able to group on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The feature will be enabled by default, so those who decide not to participate in lobbies with different platforms must disable it.
A flurry of new items
As with every collection event, Aftermarket has introduced a flurry of new cosmetic items to the game, including the highly anticipated Caustic Family Heirloom Set. There will be 24 new cosmetics in total, all available through direct purchase (with Apex Coins or Crafting Metals) or through the Event Apex Pack.
There are also a whole series of exclusive challenges that will allow you to earn up to 1.000 points per day, which can be used to unlock some of these items.
As for the Caustic Heirloom Set, it's a huge hammer that spits out some of those fearsome poisonous gases.
New Timed Mode - Hot Zone
The new limited-time mode, which will change the player's relationship with healing items, is played in the Canyon of the Kings. The map features large security zones, called Hotspots, which regenerate players' health and shields when found within them.
Plus, the mode follows the same rules as “The Ring Never Stops”, which means the circle never stops closing. Players will be able to craft Phoenix kits and handcrafted replicas, but this comes at a price, of course.

- It is now possible to upgrade to armor of the same level that has less health if it is closer to evolution.
- Anonymous mode has been added to the options. It is finally possible to anonymize your name in the sample submission, obituary and other places.
- Out of bounds: The out of bounds timer no longer updates each time you enter a new out of bounds area. The timer is now set at 30 seconds. If you enter new out-of-bounds areas, the timer will decrease constantly. However, if there are only 5 seconds left, the timer will continue to update until those 5 seconds.
