Mortal Kombat: in the new trailer of the film there are also the Fatalities

Fans of Mortal Kombat will finally be able to rejoice after seeing the first official trailer of the new Mortal Kombat movie. The film is directed by Simon McQuoid and produced by James Wan, Todd Garner and Bennett Walsh. The film will have an international cast consisting of several well-known faces, such as Lewis tan (Deadpool 2, Wu Assassins) as the protagonist Cole Young, Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last Samurai, Wolverine the Immortal) as Scorpion, Joe Taslim (Star Trek Beyond) as the glacial Sub-Zero, Tadanobu Asano (Midway) as Lord Raiden, and many others. The film is currently slated in America for 16th April, simultaneously in cinemas and on HBO Max.

The film is a reboot of the film series, which had been lucky with the first Mortal Kombat released in 1995 and directed by Paul WS Anderson (yes, the director of the many Resident Evils and recently of Monster Hunter), which then went aground after the release of the sequel Mortal Kombat: Annihilation which was a real flop. The new film will not follow the history of the video game and indeed, will have an original protagonist called Cole Young. The young man is a former MMA fighter who was born with a strange dragon-shaped birthmark. One day he will find himself being hunted by Sub-Zero Shang Tsung's deadliest warrior, the Outworld emperor. Worried about his family, Cole flees to meet Sonya Blade, a special forces major who also bears his own symbol. The two will soon end up in the temple of Lord Raiden, protector of the Kingdom of Earth, who will train them together with other important warriors, such as Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kano, to challenge the fighters of the Outworld in a tournament called Mortal Kombat.
