The news of a new model of Nintendo Switch has been in the air for a few months, and today a new Bloomberg report reports that the company expects to start assembling the new device as early as July to release it in September or October.
The new console could also be announced before E3 (starting June 12) to allow publishers to showcase their full range of Switch games at the global event.
According to sources, "Switch Pro" (forgive us for the lack of imagination, but it seems that very few within the company know the real name of the console) will go on sale slowly replacing the 2017 Switch, while the Switch Lite will remain on the market.
Assemblers will begin shipping the new model as early as this summer, and production is scheduled to increase to a peak in the October-December quarter.. It also appears that the widespread shortage of semiconductors does not affect the company's plans at the moment.
At the moment, Nintendo has not commented on the news from the Bloomberg scoop. What do you think? Do you believe the time is ripe for a new Switch model, or do you think the 2017 original still deserved some space?
