Mushroom wars: Recensione

Mushroom wars is set up as a game that aims to conquer the audience of strategic games, with fast but addictive gameplay in the style of tower defense. The version we tested is the PC version, but we also got to play the Playstation 3 version previously released for a few hours.

Armed mushrooms

The game takes place in a succession of pictures with increasing difficulty: the scenario is always made up of our own bases, enemy bases and neutral bases. The aim of the game could be to conquer certain structures rather than all the structures on the playing field. Each base we conquer produces new armed mushrooms that will constantly replenish our armies. The game is characterized by timing and probability calculation: you have to decide the right moment to go and attack an enemy base, to be able to dominate, conquer but above all keep it. In fact, it will not be rare to be able to take a base but suffer a new enemy attack shortly after, perhaps from another location. In this situation it often happens to be unguarded and to lend the side to the attacks of the enemies.

Timing but not only!

The seemingly simple game shows its strategic depth as the game progresses. Very often it will not be easy to win "first time" and a picture will have to be repeated several times. The winning strategy is not always the wait-and-see one: it often happened to us to think about what to do and wait for the right moment, but instead find ourselves in a short time overwhelmed by the enemy. Very often the paintings are in fact also timed, and we find ourselves late if we do not act immediately. These temporal variables, weapons, and types of structures ensure a very good variety to the game and a very good longevity. We can say with certainty that the title will not fail to entertain and thrill those who love the genre, both newbies and experts who, thanks to the adjustable increasing difficulty, are suitable for any type of skill.

Nice technique

From a technical point of view, the game offers cartoon-style graphics, which are pleasant even if not exceptional: the game flows smoothly, the animations are adequate and fun even if they do not scream a miracle and the very defined colors help to quickly identify all the movements. of characters on the screen.

Final Comment

An excellent purchase at a very low price among other things for all lovers of tower defense, orphans of Plant Vs Zombie and the like. The game is an excellent, varied and enjoyable pastime and its purchase is highly recommended!
