Unreal Engine 5 could become the new home of Fortnite starting from the next season of Epic Games' battle royale.
????
The warning comes from HYPEX, one of the most known and trusted leakers of the entire Fortnite scene, who had already correctly predicted the arrival of the LeBron James skin on the flagship title of Epic Games but had already been budgeted by the production house itself.
Fortnite - Soon the transition to UE5
The marriage between Fortnite and Unreal Engine 5 was written in the stars. It wasn't a question of if but when, as Epic Games is the engine behind both.
The official website of the American house, in fact, had anticipated the news by several months. Back in May, a blog post confirmed that the team was preparing to introduce U on Fortnite in the near future.
According to HYPEX, one of the most reliable sources on Fortnite, this near future translates into Season 8, the one now upon us. Doing two math, we could get our hands on a fairly improved game in September.
What consequences will this step have for the casual player? Few or none. The game should flow better across all platforms that will support Unreal Engine 5 (some doubts about the Switch, especially for the handheld mode) and, in general, the gaming experience should only benefit (less loads, textures and improved graphics).
If, on the other hand, you are strongly interested in the creative mode and creation of maps, better start learning the fundamentals of Unreal Engine 5 because, from September onwards, you will be working exclusively with that.
Waiting for an official announcement from Epic Games, we just have to continue using the conditional but there are all the credentials for the transition to Unreal Engine 5 with Season 8!
Appointment in September for the change of season!
