Is Dragon Ball Kakumei an official manga?
Dragon Ball Kakumei is not an official Akira Toriyama manga. It is not published by Shueisha or Viz Media and does not work in V Jump. Instead, it's a doujinshi, a non-canonical story produced by a team of fans.
The story in Dragon Ball Kakumei picks up immediately after the Tournament of Power and faces the aftermath of Android 17 restoring the erased universes. In addition to the six universes destroyed by Zeno, desire brought back Universe 19, which has warriors powerful enough to take down Zeno and the angels.
Unfortunately, this doujinshi was canceled after the third installment a few years ago. However, it appears to have been revitalized and may be back in production.
Dragon Ball Super Kakumei is worth checking out for fans of the series. The artwork is well done and the storyline proceeds logically from where the Tournament of Power ended. From what we've seen, there aren't any erotic elements either, so it's one of the rare doujinshi that doesn't focus on expedition.
However, Kakumei's second and third installments are hard to find as they were removed after the original deletion. The first chapter has just been uploaded again and can be found on the team's Facebook page.
Those who aren't big fans of where Dragon Ball Super is heading should definitely give Kakumei a read. We cross our fingers, hoping it won't be erased again.
